Porsche Cafe at Jewel Changi Airport: Is Cafe Carrera Actually Worth It?

A Porsche cafe inside an airport sounds like pure gimmick territory. The kind of place you expect to walk into, take one photo, sip an average coffee, and leave feeling slightly disappointed. That was precisely what I thought before stepping into Cafe Carrera by Baker and Cook at Jewel Changi Airport.

But from the moment you walk in, expectations change.

The space is beautifully done. Sleek lighting, clean lines, retro Porsche energy everywhere, and an actual Porsche on display. It feels more like a curated art gallery and lifestyle boutique than a cafe. Even if you are not a hardcore car fan, the atmosphere pulls you in instantly.

Once seated, the big question kicks in. Is this just a visually stunning concept, or does the food actually hold up?

I skipped the chocolate cakes, which contain alcohol, and went straight for the Fuchs Wheel cheesecake paired with a latte. And here came the first surprise. When you order a cake, the latte is only four dollars. At Jewel. Inside a Porsche cafe. That already felt like a win.

The cheesecake was genuinely impressive. Creamy, rich, not overly sweet, and perfectly balanced. The white chocolate Porsche wheel on top is a nice touch, but thankfully, it is not just there for show. This was a proper dessert, not a novelty cake. I honestly did not want it to end.

The coffee is by Allpress. It is not my personal favourite roast, but it was still solid. Smooth, well-made, and enjoyable. Not the best latte I have ever had, but definitely good enough that it did not distract from the experience.

All in, the total came to around fifteen dollars. Considering the location, the brand, the cheesecake’s quality, and the overall experience, it felt like excellent value. You are not just paying for a logo or a photo opportunity. You are getting a genuinely enjoyable cafe visit.

So is Cafe Carrera worth stopping at before your flight?

Suppose you are already at Jewel with some time to spare, absolutely. It is a fun, polished experience that delivers more than just aesthetics. The cheesecake alone makes it worth it, and the space itself is something different from your usual airport cafe.

The real question is not whether it is worth it.
It is whether you trust yourself to stop at just one slice before boarding your flight.
