Hextar World at Empire City: Is It Worth Visiting Now

Today we decided to check out the newly launched Hextar World at Empire City, and fam, this place is massive. It is about a thirty-minute cab ride from the KL city centre, and we arrived on a Sunday around three pm. The moment we walked in, the size, the ceilings, the futuristic feel, everything hit us at once.

It is not fully operational yet. Only a few shops are open, and most of the place is still coming soon. You can clearly see work still happening behind the scenes. But even like this, it was still cool to explore. There is a train running around the ceiling, a giant ice skating rink, and you can already imagine how crazy it will be once everything opens.

Would I rush here now? But give it some time, 2026, and this will be a must-visit spot.

Are you checking it out now or waiting for the full launch?

Chick-fil-A Has Landed in Singapore, Full Honest Review.

Fam, Chick-fil-A has officially arrived in Singapore, and of course, I had to check out the Bugis Plus opening. I reached around four thirty, hoping to avoid the crazy queue. Still waited 20 minutes for dine-in, but later that night, the queue hit 1 hour or more. So trust me, this timing saved me.

I wanted to give you the whole experience, so I ordered three burgers. The Spicy Deluxe, the Chick-fil-A Deluxe, and the original Chick-fil-A Chicken. Plus waffle fries and a vanilla milkshake.

The waffle fries were warm and tasty, even with the crowd, and that Singapore-exclusive spicy chilli sauce is a game-changer. Pepper jack cheese, juicy chicken, soft buns, pickles, creamy milkshake vibes, everything tasted nostalgic and delicious.

Should you queue for one hour or wait for the hype to cool down? Watch this whole review to decide.

This Off Menu Pastrami Sandwich at Pitboy BBQ Is Next Level

Fam, today the barbecue cravings hit me hard so I went on a little KL adventure and ended up finding Pitboy Barbecue inside Tapak Urban Street Dining. If you have never been, imagine a huge open carpark turned into a full food playground. Food trucks around you, container kitchens glowing as the sun sets, live music warming up, and a whole foodie community forming in the centre. The energy alone already tells you something good is going to happen.

We arrived right at six and thank goodness we did because the crowd built up fast. While checking out the menu I asked the owner if he had anything off menu. Something special. Something secret. He paused, smiled, and said yes. A pastrami sandwich with melted mozzarella. Off menu, limited, and absolutely calling my name.

While waiting we grabbed fresh watermelon and orange juices from the nearby stalls. Perfect for KL’s evening heat. Then the buzzer went off and my heart was ready.

The sandwich was huge. Thick smoky pastrami, melted mozzarella stretching, pickles on the side, fries, and coleslaw. One bite and the smoke, the softness of the bread, and the creamy cheese all blended perfectly. It literally melted in my mouth.
I wanted to order more but I was already too full and the worst part, there was a pasta spot nearby with an insane smell. So yes, we are definitely coming back.

Pitboy BBQ is halal and honestly one of the coolest barbecue finds I have had in KL. Would you try this off menu pastrami sandwich or should I go back and discover more hidden items for you?

I Found a Hidden Egyptian Restaurant in KL and It Shocked Me

Today I found something I honestly never expected in Kuala Lumpur, a proper Egyptian restaurant hidden inside Damansara Perdana. From the quiet location to the warm Arabic welcome, everything felt like stepping into a slice of Cairo.

I started with karkadae, hibiscus tea, sweet, tangy, refreshing, and truly authentic. Then came the koshari with rice, lentils, pasta, chickpeas, and fried onions. Not exactly like the street shops in Egypt because the tomato sauce was missing, but still comforting. Just remember to add sauce only to the part you eat or it will go soggy.

The real star was the hawawshi. They make their own bread and pan fry it, different from the oven baked Cairo style, but still juicy and packed with flavour. The tahini and pickles took every bite to the next level.
Later the lady told me she was Sudanese which made complete sense because the flavours felt like home. A real hidden Egyptian surprise in KL.

Xiao Long Bao Heaven at Din Tai Fung TRX, Malaysia food vlog

Today we went to one of our must visits in Malaysia, DIN by Din Tai Fung at The Exchange TRX. The steam, the smell, the buzz, everything told me this meal was going to be good. From the creamy Pu Er Milk Tea to the refreshing Roselle Juice, the flavours kept getting better and better.

My wife started with her signature dip, vinegar mixed with dried shrimp chilli oil, prepared early for the Xiao Long Bao. Then the Spicy Shrimp and Chicken Wontons arrived, coated beautifully in their own broth and chilli sauce. The Chicken Xiao Long Bao came next, and that first bite with the broth flowing out was pure magic with the dip. The Shrimp Egg Fried Rice was fluffy, fragrant, and instantly upgraded with a spoon of dried shrimp chilli oil. We ended with the Rice Balls in warm soybean, filled with peanut, sesame, and yam.
If you have never tried Din Tai Fung in Malaysia, this is your sign.

Let me know fam, which dish are you going for first?

The Mince Pie That Broke My Kiwi Expectations

Today, I found this little bakery hidden inside Sunset Way, tucked quietly between all the landed homes. Baker and Cook looked cosy and welcoming, so I tried two things. The pecan pie was tiny but delicious. Then the mince beef and cheese pie, which I thought would be a Kiwi-style classic. Sadl,y it came burned, crumbly, and with no gravy at a—elevenen forty for a pie that did not hit the Kiwi mark.

Let me know, what fam, would you give this place another chance, or is it one-and-done?

McDonald’s Singapore New Cheesy Jalapeño Quarter Pounder Double Burger Review

Today I went to McDonald’s Tiong Bahru, and this meal surprised me in the best way. I tried the Cheesy Jalapeño Quarter Pounder Double, the Truffle Cheese McShaker Fries, and the Cookies and Cream Pie. Fifteen dollars and fifty cents for the whole combo, and honestly, it delivered.
The burger had soft bacon with that creamy jalapeño cheese that hit immediately. The shaker fries were hot, and the cheese flavour came through beautifully, even with half a packet. And the Cookies and Cream Pie tasted like a warm Oreo hug. For a simple McDonald’s meal, this one made me smile.\

Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre Honest Review at SGD 199

I stayed at the Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre about ten days ago and this hotel sits right in the heart of KL with everything you need within walking distance. The pool looks great and the gym is full sized. The rooms come with huge bathrooms, bathtub, rain shower, sprayer toilet, full amenities and complimentary water that they actually refill often.

Our stay was comfortable but not perfect. Our first room had a leaking toilet and the check in was firm and serious instead of warm. For the price of SGD 199 per night through Hotels dot com it was still good value.

If you stayed here, did you get the same vibe or did I walk in on an off day
