Subway Zesty Lime Range Review Honest Take on Roast Chicken and Roast Duck
Watch the VLOG: https://www.tiktok.com/@anavidtraveller/video/7596544760161111316Today, I walked into Subway thinking, “This actually sounds interesting.”
The new Zesty Lime range.
Zesty Lime Roast Chicken.
Zesty Lime Roast Duck.
Zesty. Lime. Roast duck.
On paper, it sounds bold. Different. Almost exciting.
But as always, the real question is simple.
Does it actually taste good?
First Red Flag No Customisation
The first issue hit immediately.
You cannot customise the sandwich.
You can remove ingredients.
But you cannot add anything.
Wait.
Is that not the entire point of Subway?
Customising your own sandwich has always been the brand promise.
Taking that away already puts this range on shaky ground.
Six Inch Was the Smart Move
I made one good decision.
I went for the six-inch.
And honestly, I am very glad I did.
Because trying to eat a footlong Zesty Lime sandwich would have been torture.
I ordered the chicken.
My wife went for the duck.
Zesty Lime Roast Chicken Review
First bite.
Dry.
Very dry.
The flavour was even more confusing.
It tasted like an artificially flavoured tom yum sandwich.
Some people might enjoy that sharp, tangy punch.
I really did not.
It did not taste fresh.
It did not taste balanced.
It tasted forced.
Zesty Lime Roast Duck Review
Now the duck.
My wife took one bite.
Looked at me.
And said it tastes like roast duck.
But frozen roast duck.
Not fresh.
Not exciting.
Just disappointing.
For something that sounds premium and different, this really missed the mark.
The Small Meal Surprise
I did get the small meal.
White macadamia cookie and a drink.
Eleven ninety-five.
And honestly
That cookie was very nice.
Soft.
Sweet.
Comforting.
Easily the best part of the whole meal.
Which says a lot.
The Bigger Issue With Subway
My bigger issue is not just this sandwich.
Why does Subway keep removing the things people actually love?
Marinara meatballs.
Steak.
Replaced with BBQ meatballs.
And a very sad beef brisket.
It feels like Subway keeps fixing things that were never broken.
Final Verdict: Is It Worth Trying
No.
Do not rush down for this one.
If you are curious, try a six-inch at most.
But do not expect it to blow your mind.
For me, this Zesty Lime range falls short on flavour, freshness, and flexibility.
Now I want to know.
Am I being too harsh?
Or has Subway completely lost its way?

Edit: The hp number u provided is only 7 digits, not 8 digits
Got a sausage cheese egg flatbread for breakfast. Board in store quoted a price of $4.20 but I paid $4.70. When questioned the staff mentioned that “boss say can change only after 3 months”.
Blatant misrepresentation. Poor.
Not just can this hardly be called fast food at this point (even the oven works slower than in other branches I’m pretty certain), I also didn’t get the same sort of vegetables when ordering “all except jalapenos” (an instruction I’ve been using for about the last 10 years now, but i never had corn and carrots before, might be new?!)
Comparably other subway outlets (e.g. 100am are much better, the food looks better, the staff works faster and is less confused). I guess I’ll rather go elsewhere in future, if i wanna grab a quick sub.

It is not spicy but has a sharp tangy flavour that may remind some people of tom yum seasoning.

Based on this experience the duck tasted frozen and lacked freshness making it hard to recommend.

@anavidtraveller I Tried Subway’s New Zesty Lime Sandwiches, Here’s the Truth Today I tried the new Subway Zesty Lime range in Singapore. Zesty Lime Roast Chicken and Zesty Lime Roast Duck both sound exciting on paper, but the reality was very different. No customisation allowed; dry chicken and frozen-tasting duck; the only standout was the white macadamia cookie. Is Subway moving too far away from what people actually love? Watch till the end and let me know if I am being too harsh. 📍 Location Subway @ Tiong Bahru Plaza, Singapore 💬 Question for you Has Subway lost its way, or am I expecting too much? #SubwaySingapore #SingaporeFoodie #SGEats #FastFoodReview #HonestReview #FoodTokSG #FoodReels #AnAvidTraveller #FoodReviewSingapore #SGFood #SingaporeLife #EatSG #FoodVlogger #SingaporeEats #InstaFoodSG @subway @subwaysingapore ♬ original sound - anavidtraveller
