Chick-fil-A is finally in Singapore, and yes, the queues are real. The famous American chicken chain officially opened its first outlet at Bugis Plus, and curiosity alone was enough to pull me in on opening week.
I arrived around four thirty in the afternoon, trying to beat the dinner rush. Even then, I waited about twenty minutes for dine-in. Later that same evening, the queue stretched past an hour. So if you are planning a visit, timing really does matter.
First Impressions at Bugis Plus
Bugis Plus was buzzing. Staff were organised, orders were moving steadily, and despite the crowd, things felt surprisingly controlled. For a brand new opening with this level of hype, that already earned points.
I wanted the whole Chick-fil-A experience, so I went all in.
What I Ordered
I ordered three burgers to really understand the menu
The Spicy Deluxe
The Chick-fil-A Deluxe
The original Chick-fil-A Chicken
On the side, I added waffle fries and a vanilla milkshake. If you are doing Chick-fil-A for the first time, you cannot do it halfway.
Waffle Fries and Sauce First
Let us start with the waffle fries. Even with the heavy crowd, they came out warm and properly cooked. Crisp on the outside, fluffy inside, exactly how they should be.
Then came the Singapore-exclusive spicy chilli sauce. This deserves its own mention. If you know McDonald’s garlic chilli, imagine that idea, but more refined and more addictive. It genuinely elevates the entire meal.
The Burgers Breakdown
The chicken is the star here. Juicy, tender, and consistently cooked across all three burgers.
The Chick-fil-A Deluxe was classic and comforting—soft bun, crispy chicken, pickles done right, and balanced flavours.
The Spicy Deluxe was the standout for me. The pepper jack cheese added a proper kick without overpowering the chicken, and the spice level was enjoyable rather than aggressive.
The original Chick-fil-A Chicken was simple but effective. Sometimes less really is more.
The Milkshake Test
The vanilla milkshake delivered pure nostalgia. Thick, creamy, and comforting. Not fancy, not overworked, precisely what you want alongside fried chicken.
Is It Worth the Queue
This is the big question everyone is asking.
Is Chick-fil-A good
Yes
Is it worth queueing for an hour
That depends on you
If you are curious and want to experience it fresh, go during off-peak hours. Late afternoon before dinner or late evening works best. If long queues aren’t your thing, waiting for the hype to cool down is probably the more brilliant move.
Final Thoughts
Chick-fil-A Singapore delivers a solid first impression: good chicken, consistent execution, a standout sauce, and a smooth opening despite the crowds.
It is not trying to reinvent the chicken burger. It is just doing it correctly.
