A Ten-Dollar Lunch That Actually Makes Sense
I walked into Ela Greek thinking one thing. Ten-dollar lunch in Singapore. What is the catch?
Rice bowl, chicken, and a tea house brew included. So far, so good.
Naturally, I added two dollars for the beef kofta. Because obviously.
The Food
Let us get straight to the honest part.
The kofta was okay. Not bad, not great. There was a bit too much bulgur or wheat in the mix, which diluted what should have been the main event. You want that punchy meat flavour, but here it was softened more than it should have been.
The rice on its own was fine. The salad was fresh and crisp. Everything really only came together once you mixed the rice, salad, and kofta into the same bite. That is when it made sense.
Still, this is not a dish that makes you stop mid-chew and say, “Wow.” It is more of a quiet, decent lunch that does the job.
The Price Reality
Here is where things change.
Twelve dollars dine in with a drink.
Fourteen fifty after GST and service charge.
In Singapore, that is genuinely hard to argue with.
The Vibe
This is where Ela Greek really shines.
The decor is beautiful.
The music is on point.
The overall vibe is relaxed and calm, the kind of place you do not mind sitting in a little longer than planned.
It feels more premium than the price suggests.
Final Verdict
Would I come here looking for a wow meal? Probably not.
Would I come back for a solid, affordable lunch that does exactly what it promises? Yes, I would.
Ela Greek is not trying to be flashy. It is offering value, atmosphere, and consistency. And sometimes, that matters more than chasing the wow factor.
So let me ask you.
Would you take a good value meal over a wow dish that costs double?
Google Reviews:

I really want to try the octopus but always sold out! For the drinks i’d like to recommend Karpouzi Kafe – it’s a mixed of watermelon, mint espresso and ginger ale. Very refreshing!
For mains, the Seabreeze Platter and Farmhouse Platter were both generous, vibrant, and beautifully prepared. Every dish felt thoughtful and balanced.
Dessert was a standout: the loukoumades with pistachio ice cream were warm, crunchy, and dreamy, and the Achladi poached pear was light, fragrant, and refreshing. The Levanta Spritz added a lovely floral lift to the whole dining experience.
On top of great food and atmosphere, the toilets were clean and well maintained, which added to how pleasant the visit felt.
Overall, delicious dishes, warm service, and a cosy space — I’ll be back!
Food was great, the fries was surprisingly my favourite! It’s very moreish – especially the dipping sauce.
The rice bowl I had was good too.
The only downside was when I came, a lot of the items were not available, including some drinks as well.
Plenty of seats even during lunch time on weekday.
Food wise: I recommend the seafod manestra, seafood platter, dip platter, and half chicken! Very fresh seafood thats not overcooked, and the chicken was so savoury. Hummus is solid. Good portions all in all. Food here is generally more affordable than other more popular Greek restaurants in SG.
However the food (mains) does take a while to come. And on all occasions I’ve been there, there are always a few things on the menu that are not available. Not a deal-breaker for me but may be so for others.
The aesthetics of the restaurant is also quite pretty, has a relaxed vibe. Good for most occasions including family gatherings and simple dates.
Service is mostly okay. One time we were there to celebrate a bday and the staff were very accommodating and sweet to help us out with the cake and even sang hpb with us!
That said, cos the waitstaff team is usually lean (1-2ppl), sometimes it takes a while before theyre free to attend to your requests.
