Discovering J’aime les Macarons at Commercial Bay, Auckland

What started as a simple lunch plan at Commercial Bay somehow ended with a small red box that instantly lifted my mood. While walking through the mall earlier, I noticed J’aime les Macarons. Bright colours. Elegant display. Completely impossible to ignore.

After lunch, we came back and appropriately committed. Six macarons. No regrets.

Crème Brûlée Macaron:

The first bite set the tone. A crisp shell followed by that unmistakable crack, then a soft custardy centre that tasted exactly like a proper crème brûlée. For a brief moment, I genuinely forgot where I was. This one alone is worth the visit.

Tropical Mango and Pineapple Macaron:

Bright, juicy and refreshing. Mango and pineapple work together perfectly, like sunshine in macaron form. Light, vibrant and dangerously easy to eat.

Salted Butter Caramel Macaron:

Sweet, salty and rich. This is the kind of flavour that quietly slows you down without you realising. Comforting, indulgent and very hard to stop at one bite.

Lemon Macaron:

Sharp, clean and refreshing. The perfect reset after the more decadent flavours. Balanced acidity with a smooth finish that keeps everything feeling light.

Scorched Almond Macaron:

Deep, nutty and slightly chocolatey. This one made me pause—bold flavour, grown up and complex, and easily one of the most interesting in the box.

Pistachio Macaron:

Delicate and beautifully made. Soft and gooey inside with a crisp shell that melts as soon as you bite. It had tough competition after the earlier flavours, but it still held its own.

Why J’aime les Macarons Is One of the Best Dessert Stops in Auckland?

Every macaron had the perfect balance. Crisp shell. Soft interior. Clean flavours that never felt artificial or overly sweet. These are carefully made, refined and genuinely memorable.

Honestly, these might be the best macarons I have had anywhere.

If you are visiting Auckland, do not skip J’aime les Macarons at Commercial Bay. And if you have already tried them, tell me honestly, which flavour wins for you?

One of the order came a bit melted and damaged. The team was able to quickly sort out my order and help me arrange another delivery. Best macarons and amazing service, give it a try if you haven't already!

Delicious macarons. Got them as a gift for my dad for Father’s Day and he absolutely LOVED them (Spearmint milkshake macaron + grande peanut chocolate macaron). The confectionery is also delicious and a great gift idea. My dad loves the peanut brittle especially!

The most delicious macarons I've ever had, no lie. Crisp, a little chewy, a generous layer of filling (I love the little jammy surprises some of them have too!) and flavour like WOW (Belgian biscuit, licorice milk choc & key lime pie were absolutely to die for!) and they come beautifully presented. Would make an amazing gift for virtaully any occasion, but somehow I always seem to buy them for myself, ha ha!
